How to act

by petermoolan

First, we smile. There is no time to hesitate. We are only here for a short time.

We act decisively under pressure with incomplete information.

We collapse uncertainty into action carefully and deliberately.

This is what we mean by collapse:

Many possibilities, one decision. Many narratives, one move.

When pressure rises, the mind wants perfect certainty. Perfect certainty does not arrive.

First, we slow the breath. Then we name the facts. Then we name the unknowns.

Then we choose the smallest action that is both meaningful and reversible. That action collapses a cloud of futures into one lived present.

After action, we review.

What did we miss? What did we learn? What should be done next, now that reality has answered back?

Collapse is disciplined commitment under uncertainty.

We smile because panic is contagious. Just like composure.
